About Morang Market

Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 amβ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (313) 742-0549. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 57 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Detroit is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Michigan's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I've been craving some good chorizo this moring, and Morang appeared in a search I did for "Mexican grocery near me." So I presumed it was a Mexican grocery store. I'm afraid the closest thing to Mexican food I saw was a bag of Fritos in the snack aisle. It's more of a party store than a grocery. It doesn't have a produce section. Or a meat counter. Or a deli. I view these as essential elements in a grocery store. I have nothing against the store as a party store, but don't expect it to have what grocers carry.

I've been going to this store for over twenty years. It was first owned by Linda who use to bake fresh cookies everyday, too Mike and Eddie they were brothers. They helped a lot in the neighborhood. Both owners treated me and my family as if we were family. When I went in today I mean you can see the big change. I mean the calzones are the bomb.......The cashier attitudes not the best. It's ok I guess.
